We’d been thinking of getting solar panels installed for a number of years, but just hadn’t gotten around to doing anything about it…..until now!
The team at start solar installed 17 panels, battery storage, and EV charger and water heater a few weeks ago, and we’re addicted to watching the APP showing the energy being harvested from the sun and locked into the battery for use during the day. Our electric bills are high, working from home, electricity is in constant demand. Since the installation, we’ve used practically no electricity, and we anticipate a payback from the system within 4 to 5 years.
The inverter and battery were installed in the roof space, leaving the wall space in the garage free. The water heater was installed in the Hot Press, and heats the domestic hot water supply when the battery is charged (but you can divert the energy directly to the water heater at will if needed rather than it going directly to the battery). The APPs that track the electricity generation are easy to use, and the system takes care of itself with no intervention needed once set up.
We’d highly recommend the Team at start solar for your solar journey. Suzie and the Team are based locally (in N. Ireland), and are readily contactable should you need any guidance.

Recently installed 22 panels with start solar on a ground mount with an 8kW battery and a zappi car charger. Although we got of to a bad start, some delays initially, due to storms, materials, poor communication back and forth I eventually got through to Ben who quickly sorted the issues and I couldn’t be happier with the system. Deposit paid in December and system installed in March. Because off all the issues I had with the company I got a very healthy discount and a 200 euro donation to a charity of my choosing in Mayo. Guys came and done the work all in one day. All the lads on the ground were sound to deal with, very helpful and I would recommend them to anyone. I’ve been generating high levels and selling back to the grid since March.
start solar have been a pleasure to deal with from the initial enquiry to the installation of our PV setup they have been professional, prompt and pleasant. Despite my initial scepticism that the installation would only take a day – the team arrived within 5 minutes of the advised time, had the panels mounted on the roof by lunchtime and the system up and running by 4pm!
