In May 2024, Start Solar installed a 50 kW solar PV system at the National Horseracing College in Doncaster. The installation spanned three key locations across the site: the arena, lodgings, and stables and comprised 110 high-efficiency panels paired with three advanced inverters to optimise performance. Designed to meet the unique energy needs of the college’s facilities, the system was engineered to deliver reliable, sustainable power while reducing long-term operating costs.
Since commissioning, the system has generated 46,329 kWh of clean energy, leading to financial savings of £12,164 by July 2025. This significant reduction in energy expenditure not only strengthens the college’s commitment to sustainability but also provides long-term protection against rising electricity prices. The project demonstrates how strategic solar investment can benefit educational and training facilities, even when energy usage is spread across multiple locations.
