start solar were excellent at guiding us through all the options we had when it came to adding solar and a battery to our house. From the initial phone chat with Suzie, to our assessment with Andrew, we were confident we had picked the right business to work with.

I was particularly keen to ensure that the installation was neat and fitted in well with the existing design of the house, which is where Damien and the install team did such an excellent job. I’ve been so happy the whole process – we have not imported any electricity from the grid since the install one month ago (in fact we are now exporting!).

We’d been thinking of getting solar panels installed for a number of years, but just hadn’t gotten around to doing anything about it…..until now!

The team at start solar installed 17 panels, battery storage, and EV charger and water heater a few weeks ago, and we’re addicted to watching the APP showing the energy being harvested from the sun and locked into the battery for use during the day. Our electric bills are high, working from home, electricity is in constant demand. Since the installation, we’ve used practically no electricity, and we anticipate a payback from the system within 4 to 5 years.

The inverter and battery were installed in the roof space, leaving the wall space in the garage free. The water heater was installed in the Hot Press, and heats the domestic hot water supply when the battery is charged (but you can divert the energy directly to the water heater at will if needed rather than it going directly to the battery). The APPs that track the electricity generation are easy to use, and the system takes care of itself with no intervention needed once set up.

Absolutely delighted with my solar panels, Suzie came out to the house and gave us a great breakdown of how the systems worked, we opted for 16 panels, battery and inverter, already seeing the savings.

Really happy with the solar installation. The team did a super tidy job – panels look great, wiring is neat, and everything was left clean. They turned up on time, worked efficiently, and explained how everything works in a way that was easy to understand.

Got the solar PV system in (14 panels, 5kW battery, 3.6kW inverter and Eddi water heater) just about 1 week and we’re really pleased with the results. Thus far our draw from the grid is mostly zero and it’s been relatively cloudy too. Installation went really smoothly, was a neat tidy job, and the installers and office folks couldn’t have been more helpful. Calculated payback for the system is ~3.5 years, but with 25+ years warranty on the panels and 12 years on the battery at that point it’s a long period of free energy and is frankly, a total no-brainer! That’s especially true as we have a plug-in hybrid vehicle also so great savings there too! Can’t recommend enough!
